CERTIFICATIONS
Jessica is a licensed Clinical Psychologist. She has received specialized training in PracticeWise Managing and Adapting Practice (MAP), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
MENTAL HEALTH APPROACH
In therapy, Jessica uses a relational, supportive approach focused on empowering her clients to make change and helping clients to learn new tools to manage distress. She uses a strength-based, flexible, creative and collaborative approach in therapy to work to meet clients where they are at and set achievable goals.
When collaborating with clients on goals, Jessica considers culture and ways that a client/family can bring in cultural elements to support their healing. Jessica uses her knowledge of development and awareness of the impact of early experience on current concerns to help inform her approach, including consideration of the impact of intergenerational trauma. In child and adolescent work she supports all members of the family in understanding unhelpful patterns of behavior in order to learn new strategies to address their concerns. Jessica believes that all clients have the ability to make positive change to improve their lives and to build resilience in response to challenging life experiences.
