MENTAL HEALTH APPROACH

Macarena’s approach to therapy focuses on enhancing a client’s strengths through collaboration and empowerment.

She sees therapy as a cooperative effort that allows clients to develop insight and grow while navigating complex issues and fostering resiliency. Clients who work with Macarena can expect to learn new skills that they can take outside of the therapy room to make direct changes to the ways they live their life.

CURRENT PRACTICE

In her clinical practice, Macarena provides a wide array of psychological and forensic evaluations, as well as individual therapy with adolescents, adults, and couples. She performs evaluations and therapy in both English and Spanish, and has expertise in immigration affidavits (e.g., N-648, U-Visa, Extreme Hardship).

Macarena regularly speaks and teaches on topics related to complex trauma and diversity/immigration in various local and national conferences. She also consults with organizations and clinicians regarding complex trauma and the impact of incorporating yoga into the care of trauma survivors.

Macarena is currently not taking any new therapy clients but is open for assessment cases.
